The rules.

Who can donate

Eligible individuals only. Under BC’s Recall and Initiative Act, that means residents of British Columbia who are Canadian citizens or permanent residents. Corporate, union, and out-of-province donations are not permitted.

Maximum amount

$1,513.29 is the maximum a single eligible donor can give to this recall campaign in 2026. The limit is set by Elections BC and adjusted annually.

Tax treatment

Donations to a recall campaign are not tax-deductible, and no tax receipt will be issued. This is the law for recall campaigns in BC, the same as for political contributions.

Public reporting

Donations of more than $250 are reported publicly on Elections BC’s Financial Reports, with the donor’s name and the amount. This is a legal requirement, not a campaign choice.

Financial agent

The campaign’s financial agent of record is Cindy Dalglish, PO Box 85017 Willoughby Town Centre, Langley BC V2Y 0W2. All Elections BC compliance questions go through her office.
